| Biography |
| Richard J Grandzol earned his PhD degree in chemical engineering from Drexel University in 1973. After two years active duty in the U. S. Army, he worked in the metals, pulp and paper, chemicals and plastics industries. In 1989, he transitioned into safety, subsequently earning his Certified Safety Professional accreditation in 1994 and Certified Environmental, Safety and Health Trainer accreditation in 1999.
He formed Safetysmith Inc and began practicing as an Occupational Safety and Health Consultant in 1999. His primary areas of specialty are comprehensive safety, health and environmental program development and implementation for new companies, training, hand injury prevention initiatives, program audits and facility inspections and process hazard analysis.
